April 12th – Ebb & Flow

First Chipping Sparrow of the year.

First Chipping Sparrow of the year.

I was expecting more from today than we got considering the flow of birds that went through yesterday. Winds were light, mix of sun and cloud, warm termperatures (once the sun got up). But visible migrants were few and far between for reasons that elude me. Yesterday we encountered 53 species; today just 39. The only ‘new’ bird for the year was a Chipping Sparrow.
