We banded more birds today (20 vs 14 yesterday) but the number and variety of birds that was around this morning was much lower than yesterday. Yesterday you just “felt” the avian energy, that birds were on the move. Today? Not so much….. We encountered 9 fewer species today than yesterday. I’m ready for the next pulse.

Banded 20:
Eastern Phoebe – 1

Black-capped Chickadee – 1
Golden-crowned Kinglet = 5
American Robin – 4
Chipping Sparrow – 1
Song Sparrow – 5
Dark-eyed Junco – 2
American Goldfinch – 1
ET’s: 41 spp.
