April – a New Record!

As noted a couple of entries ago, somehow, despite days off due to wind and/or rain, we were approaching a new record for the number of birds banded at Ruthven in the month of April. Well…..we did it!!
The new record is 766, the first time we have cleared 700. This involved a respectable 42 species.

The Top Three were:
American Goldfinch – 237
Dark-eyed Junco – 93
White-throated Sparrow – 80
