August 15th – The Prodigal Son Returns….for a Short While Anyway

Matt Timpf, Dream Team member and field technician extrordinaire, has returned from Alaska and, being in need of a banding “fix”, has been (and will be) out at Ruthven over the next week. Here’s some messages from him:

Hi everyone,

I thought I would mention the days I am planning to be out at Ruthven over the coming week, as well as my contact information, in case anyone is interested in volunteering. I plan to be at Ruthven tomorrow (Thurs 16th), as well as Mon/Tues/Wed of next week (20th-22nd).

My e-mail address is timpf@hotmail.ca and my cell phone is 519-410-0361, if anyone would like to confirm. Texting is best as I usually don’t have the ringer on, but I frequently check for texts/e-mails.

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Rick,

I went out to Ruthven this morning, and banded from 630-11. It was busy at first then slowed once the fog burned off. I processed 38 birds (25 new, 13 recap). Nancy stopped by for an hour or so. I only ran the 1-7 nets, so it was a decent total. I have attached 2 pics, a HY YSFL and a HY REVI.

Here were the days totals:

New birds = 25

Blue-winged Warbler – 1
