These are the “interesting” days: you just never know what will show up in the nets and you never know who will show up in the parking lot. There was a good mix of birds around this morning – banded 8 species of warblers including the first Canada Warbler of the year (see below) and encountered 64 species in total throughout the day, including a somewhat late Common Loon. I was having a pretty good day and then Michelle Kenny showed up. With her arrival the birds stopped moving (except for the Canada Warbler) but the sun came out from behind all the early morning cloud – so it was a mixed blessing. I’m sure the 2 phenomena are related…..
