Scattered showers began just after the nets were open. Not enough to force net closure but enough to cause one to curse the capriciousness of the elements. The park seemed much quieter than yesterday with no Eastern White-Crowned Sparrows being observed and fewer American Goldfinches and Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks around. Many migrants left during the night.

Only 6 human visitors during the day too. It was not all that long ago that that would have been our weekly total of visitors.

No new species today, but in banding we have now passed the “1000” mark. Funny though, it just doesn’t seem like we’ve had that many birds.
