It was a wonderful day to be out birding/banding. LOTS of birds around of many different kinds. We had 5 “new” species for the year, all of them warblers: Brewster’s Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Canada Warbler, American Redstart, Magnolia Warbler. Altogether we had 17 species of warblers around the site. We banded 30 different species and between banding and retraps handled 38 species. And there are still lots to come!
It will be interesting to see what impact the forecast rain will have.
