Another lovely – slow-paced – day. A day for basking in the sunshine, perhaps even napping on the picnic table, but not for banding copious numbers of long-distance migrants…..or even one long-distance migrant. Only the presence of American Goldfinches kept it interesting.

Talk about being “whisked along”…on the way into work this morning I chased a flock of Canada Geese that were taking advantage of the southerly winds. They were heeading due north and making a speed of at least 93 km/hr.
…and we are to believe this. April Fools Day was weeks ago.
