November 10th – Closing Up Shop

This was “take down the nets day” at Ruthven. Christine, Nancy, Dale and I went around to each net lane, assessed whether the various nets were worth keeping for next year, saved those that were and disposed of those that weren’t.
While doing that we opened nets 1 & 2 and took out a steady stream of birds between net takedowns. There’s still lots of American Goldfinches around and a few new American Tree Sparrows and Juncos….but not a lot else..

2 White-breasted Nuthatches
1 Dark-eyed Junco
3 American Goldfinches
