A lingering Eastern Phoebe.

I’m in a bit of a rush this afternoon/evening so this won’t be my usual Pulitzer-prize-winning-prose but…I want you to know that we set a new Fall banding record: 4,769, eclipsing the old mark of 4,763 set in 2010. On the day, we banded 60 birds, half of which were American Goldfinches. The number of species banded – 92 – is also a new record (we banded 90 in 2010).
