Cool temperatures brought rain with them…or is it the other way around? Either way, the temperature stayed at just 10 throughout the morning and the rain persisted except for a lull of about an hour.
I baited ground traps and opened just a couple of nets during the lull.
I got a couple of “nice” birds (they’re all nice, aren’t they?) including a Blue-headed Vireo and the first Yellow-rumped Warbler of the season. We had seen a few of these in the last week but this was the first one that we caught. It feels like they are late this year.
