October 5th – A Good Teaching Day

It was cold and windy….throughout the morning; I guess you could say it was “bracing”. We captured 51 birds – 32 “new” ones, and 19 retraps – with good variety and at a pace to keep people busy and interested without being overwhelmed. We had a good number of volunteers out who were all keen to learn and to really learn in this type of endeavour you have to be able to actually handle the birds, not just watch. So in this regard it was a good teaching day.
