Migration Monitoring – Ruthven, April 18th, 2008

Yet another in our series of bright, sunshiny days with summer-like temperatures. There were a few birds active early on, but this tapered off quickly.

No new bird species to report today despite the beaming of positive thought waves to the front of the mansion for the spontaneous generation of a Pine Warbler or two. There was a Cooper’s Hawk in that vicinity though, that was chasing the European Starling around.

The first turtle of the season made an appearance – a Common Map Turtle basking on the far bank across from the mansion.
