Despite the warm and unsettled weather a great group of volunteers handled a diverse 31 birds today (25 new, 6 recaptures). Warblers continue to trickle in, with our first banded Chestnut-sided and Black-and-White Warblers of the season.
The non-banding highlights included Green-winged Teal, Bobolink and a Blackpoll Warbler.
Today we had a visiting exchange student (from Switzerland) come visit the lab. Melina helped us throughout the morning, learning all about the banding process, and banded her first bird.
