September 22nd

A warm, sunny clear day at Ruthven with relatively few birds around. Perhaps they were all watching the stock market’s meteoric rise. There were a few thrushes calling overhead just before first light and some foraging warblers just after dawn but otherwise it was pretty quiet.

A few ducks were observed flying along the river, including the season’s first Blue-Winged Teal.
