September 5th – A Vireo Day

Red-eyed Vireo: the brown eyes denote a young or "hatch year" bird. -M. Timpf

The day started off quiet and foggy, but still very warm and humid. The day was definitely dominated by vireos. We caught 18 Red-eyed Vireo (11 new, 7 recap), and a few Warbling and Philadelphia. The Yellow-throated Vireo also continues to sing away. With the help of Joanne and Peter we ended up processing 61 birds (40 new, 21 recaps).
