Wednesday, June 24th

The pre-dawn air was still and muggy, enlivened only by the flash of many fireflies in the forest. A thin layer of condensation covered everything, including me, as I wandered from net to net.

The temperature sky-rocketed as the day progressed which kept bird movement, and consequent bird capture, to a minimum.

The halogen light over the parking lot was left on during the night. This proved an irresistible attraction for local moths including a Cecropia and two Io’s.
