October 2nd – Between Rains

Black shoulders = male Scarlet Tanager. -NRF

We had pretty heavy rain (including several T-storms) through the night and it was raining fairly steadily at 5:30 so I didn’t have to jump into action right away. So I started to watch the Rugby World Cup in order to watch Canada get a drubbing by New Zealand. I could only take 15 minutes of it before deciding maybe it was better to get to Ruthven. The rain for all intents and purposes stopped around 7 (except for a couple of very brief drizzly patches) and didn’t pick up again until 11:20 – exactly as predicted. In between we ran the nets.
