Last Fall was a bad one for us at Ruthven: we didn’t have even one day where we banded more than 100 birds. But today marked the 3rd day in a row of over 100 birds banded….101.

It was a typical Fall day: strong cold wind out of the NE and heavy overcast. Thank goodness the wonderful weather has past us by, eh? This is the weather that brings migrants en masse.

And at Fern Hill School Nancy banded 18 Including the first Hermit Thrush and Yellow-bellied Sapsucker of the season.
