October 5th – Waxwings, Myrtles, and White-throats

We had another busy day as migrants continued to pour through the area taking advantage of the light northerly winds that blew during the night. We banded 127 birds and three species made up over three quarters of them: Cedar Waxwings, Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warblers, and White-throated Sparrows.

It was a steady day at Fern Hill today, with a total of 35 birds handled. The highlight being a Scarlet Tanager.
