April 23rd – A Cachophony of Crows

The pastoral and tranquil setting that Ruthven usually is was shattered this morning by Crows, 6 or 8 of them cawing and chasing each other around the park. The game was still in play when I left at 1:30pm. One crow has lost all its rectrices (tail feathers) and makes a most comical sight flying overhead. I wonder how his steering is, with no rudder?
