I was a little surprised that there were rain drops on my car windshield at 5:45 this morning; the forecast called for a mix of sun and cloud. The rain gradually intensified all morning, to a steady rain by 10:30 when I closed up. (With soaked jeans, and fingers chilled to the bone) So much for forecasts! The birds were not impressed by the weather either. I did a quick census, more or less to see what was on the river, but it was very quiet. No “new species†to report today.

It seems the ‘Junco: Finch or Sparrow?’ debate has heated up a little with a rebuttal to the ’embittered hag’s’ tirade by Jerry the Junco. Feel free to add your opinion (we’re pretending opinions are worth considering in these matters, which they aren’t). See that post by clicking here.
