[I take a day off – to see Christie Macdonald defend her Master’s project on Snow Buntings – and the place goes nuts. Matt just has a way of drawing those birds in…..]
Matt:
The birds were pretty active today after the crummy weather yesterday. It was a 100 bird day (70 new birds, 30 recaptures)! Thankfully there were lot’s of helpers to assist with all the birds. We had great diversity, with lot’s of warbler activity. There was some raptor movement with the highlight being a nice fly-by PEREGRINE FALCON. On census the highlight was a fly-by SNOW GOOSE in with a flock of Canada’s. Two of the banding highlights included the first of the fall RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET and a late YELLOW WARBLER.
