Migration Monitoring
April 2nd, 2007

A grey day right from sun up, with gusty SW winds. There were enough birds to keep me busy, and the Myrtle Warbler was a bit of a surprise. Some small flocks of Golden Crowned Kinglets were in the shrubs in the valley out of the wind. The first White throated Sparrow was banded today. I retrapped a Blue jay that we have seen every year since we first banded her as a Hatch Year in 2004.

Banded 35:
1 Downy Woodpecker
10 Golden-crowned Kinglet
1 Eastern Bluebird
1 Myrtle Warbler
2 Northern Cardinal
6 Song Sparrow
1 White-throated Sparrow
6 Dark-eyed Junco
7 American Goldfinch

Retrapped 7:
1 Blue Jay
1 White-breasted Nuthatch
1 Song Sparrow
3 Dark-eyed Junco
1 Red-winged Blackbird
