I did a census this morning to see what was around. Although there were a number of American Goldfinches at the feeders, other small birds were noticeably absent.
Census – 18 species:

1 Greater Scaup (1st one observed this year)
1 Common Goldeneye
3 Common Mergansers
1 Red-tailed Hawk
10 Ring-billed Gulls
1 Red-bellied Woodpecker

4 Blue Jays
7 Black-capped Chickadees
8 White-breasted Nuthatches
3 Brown Creepers
2 Dark-eyed Juncos
3 House Finches
17 American Goldfinches
[Later today I was notified by my neighbour, Carol King, that an adult Bald Eagle and an Osprey were over the river – going in opposite directions.]
